This is SkiftaRikt

We support you in the process of building trust and confidence to gradually change roles. This enables more ownership changes and increases the proportion of younger agricultural entrepreneurs.

FOR WHOM?

Skifta Rikt is for you in agriculture or other rural activities such as:

  • are entrepreneurs today and want to develop your leadership to meet the sustainable business of the future,

  • owns or will soon own a company,

  • have started to consider or are facing an actual change of ownership/generational change,

  • want to buy or sell a farm, (link to Bond Match)

  • do not have a transferor or transferor but want help finding one, (link to Bond Match)

  • need mentoring and coaching in finding new roles to own, run, live and have good relationships on the farm.

HOW?

Skifta Rikt is a digital program that runs over a few months with a total of 7 sessions of 2-3 hours per session. Between the digital meetings, you and possibly others work on tasks that take you towards your desired position in the change of ownership and the company. You leave the program with a clear plan for the future. The plan can be an exit plan for older people who are about to phase out and a future plan for those who are about to take over and phase into new roles and tasks.

WHAT?

During the course of the program, we will highlight the importance of inclusive and sustainable development for your company in the green industries in various ways. We will, among other things, show how strengthened economic profitability is created in your leadership through a focus on social sustainability and the connection to how gender equality can play such an important role in future development, what sustainable financing and the legal aspects of ownership and transfer look like. You will receive tools for communication in your development work and for self-leadership.

There are very few other forums where you can discuss and receive coaching in both finances and relationships around farming!

The SkiftaRikt method

Skifta Rikt's 7-step training program gives you expert-led, flexible learning to master each step of the ownership transfer process. In between the steps, you'll be given tasks to work on on your own.

Start-up

  • We get to know each other, go through the program's structure and set common goals.

  • Presentation, framing and analysis of the current situation

1

Lecture and workshop

Together we go through topics and concepts such as goal management, communication, self-leadership and core values.

2

3

Lecture

In this lecture we will go through the theoretical legal aspects of transfer of ownership, including tax and family law.

4

Networking meeting

Here you will have the chance to meet participants from previous ownership changes who will share their experiences. We will also talk about your current and future roles and exit plans.

Workshops

This workshop focuses on the area of finance and here we discuss financing, go through calculations and business plans as tools for profitable entrepreneurship.

5

6

Group call

Here, participants exchange experiences of the process and their action plan going forward . This strengthens communication in the group and provides new insights.

7

Conclusion

We conclude by discussing and reflecting on the insights we have gathered during the training and making a plan for the way forward.

Final goal

Change of ownership

Everyone's new roles are in place and experts now have a clear basis to work with.

Tools for structure and change

We use the NÖHRA-model as a concrete and easy-to-use framework for development and change. By systematically going through its steps, participants are helped to clearly see where they stand today, where they want to go, what obstacles exist, what resources they have – and finally what needs to be done to take the next step.

Results from previously implemented programs:

  • 10 completed programs 2017-2024

  • 263 participants from 73 companies throughout Sweden, of which 42% were women, aged 15-90 years.

  • 99% recommend us to others

  • 2/3 have developed and received better tools

  • 40% of the participants who took part in the one-year program have completed the change of ownership within the next year with our methodology. According to them, this is due to the approach that is based on becoming part of a group, clear goals and follow-up. That we train in communication and leadership and support in any conflicts that stand in the way of continued dialogue.

It is very important to have support and help in the process of a change of ownership and Skifta Rikt has truly been that way and is there for us all the way to a solution if we need it.

Comments from participants in spring 2023

"I have learned that the soft questions mean a lot more than I thought before the course. And it is important to get everyone involved before the change of ownership. Also, to distinguish between the change of ownership and operations, which I did not do before. Thank you for the good coaching."

“It gave me much more than I had expected! I thought I had come a long way in the process before I joined Skifta Rikt. But it turned out that I had no idea. I thought, “how hard can it be – you just have to decide” – but there was so much more that I hadn’t thought of. So now it’s time to start over from scratch – and it doesn’t matter – the most important thing is that everyone is satisfied and that we are striving in the same direction.”

"Skifta Rikt has truly been a catalyst for our generational shift. Exceeded all expectations!"

Listen to Ida outside Östersund about why she wanted to participate in the Skifta Rikt Ownership Change Program with UTSIKT business development.

That the ownership changes in the green industries take place on time is a matter of fate for both the industry and society at large. Failure to carry out ownership changes risks the future of the sector, the solutions to society's environmental and climate challenges and a secure food supply. We believe that the key to successful ownership changes are the so-called "soft values" around a change, which is exactly what Skifta Rikt focuses on. That is why LRF has chosen to collaborate with UTSIKT business development and the Skifta Rikt program.

Rebecca Källström, business policy advisor and Palle Borgström, chairman of the Swedish Federation of Trade Unions (LRF).

Agriculture faces several challenges in the future – two of which are the need for better leadership and rejuvenation within the industry. Today, the average farmer is 58 years old, LRF Ungdomen works to facilitate and create conditions for young people to take over and run companies in the green industry. We believe that the project "Skifta Rikt" can contribute to more companies having the opportunity to develop into more profitable companies and that more people are reached by an equal and inclusive ownership change process.

Katarina Wolf, Filip Axelsson and Sebastian Remvig board members and Elisabeth Hidén, chairwoman of LRF Ungdomen
